Transformative Seattle Workshops Based on the Work of Brené Brown
Rising Strong™ Seattle Retreat
with Shakti Yoga
Together we will learn a process for rising after failure, disappointment and loss so we can see that it is exactly in those places of struggle that we can rise strong and LIVE BRAVE.
This powerful workshop combines the lessons of yoga with the groundbreaking work of Dr. Brené Brown, world leading researcher on the power of courage and vulnerability.
We are capable of doing so much more than we imagine.
But too often, we step away from those daring challenges because we are… let’s face it… too afraid of failure!
What if you could learn how to get past the fear, find your worth, and keep rising strong in the face of struggle, disappointment, and loss?
Imagine what your life could look like without the fears, doubts, and self-criticism holding you back. We hold ourselves back because we fear not being enough. We let scarcity thinking drive our decisions instead of generosity. We speak more compassionately to others than ourselves. We try to please rather than speaking our truth, fearing we will be judged.
It doesn’t have to be that way. We can learn to break free of those old patterns of negativity and fear.
We can learn how to keep getting back up – each time with a little more ease and strength.
Dr. Brené Brown, world leading researcher into vulnerability and courage, outlines the process in Rising Strong™. Her TED talks (The Power of Vulnerability and Listening to Shame) have been viewed by over 27 million people.
The Rising Strong™ Seattle Retreat brings her groundbreaking research and processes of change to you in a practical, hands-on, and community supported way.
Now you can RISE STRONG & LIVE BRAVE in your own life.
According to Dr. Brené Brown…
Being VULNERABLE means...
The willingness to show up and be seen with no guarantee of outcome . Vulnerability is at the core of difficult emotions like fear, grief and disappointment, but it’s also the birthplace of love, belonging, innovation, and creativity – the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives.
Being BRAVE means...
Being willing to fail. But after we fail getting back up and turning toward the truth of our struggle and looking it in the eye with self compassion and curiosity. When we deny our stories, they define us. When we run from struggle, we are never free.
Experiencing LESS SCARCITY means...
More daring. Letting go of fear. People are tired of being afraid. The scarcity culture created by allowing fear and blame to run roughshod over our lives, communities, and organizations can only be transformed by individual acts of daring.
CHOOSE COURAGE means...
We are all called to be brave. Answering that call means choosing courage over comfort, choosing what’s right over what’s easy, practicing our values rather than professing them, and leaning into our vulnerability.
Is that the life you want to live and person you want to be?
If so, learning to rise strong is the key.
And we meld these powerful teachings with the practice and teachings of Yoga. Each day Lisa Black will lead us in a yoga session anyone can participate in even if it’s your first time.
Then, through a series of video demonstrations, activities and discussion – we will dive into how to live brave and rise strong in your daily life. We’ll share our stories with one another and discover the values that can light the way to move into a life of purpose and fulfillment.
IN THIS RETREAT YOU WILL:

“It has been easier for me to be compassionate with myself, partly because I am more aware when I am not being kind inside.
And the workshop was very warm, very accepting. Lots of safe interaction with other participants. Plenty of chances to see how things apply to me.
I was a little surprised at how similar our ways of being critical of ourselves are!”
“My experience was amazing! The principles were profound and well founded.
The biggest impact it has had on my life was how I deepened the relationship with my daughter and revealed some deep challenges that paved the way for healing.
One of my more surprising insights was discovering in myself that something has to die in order to forgive. And as a result, it allowed me to more deeply forgive my father.”
